The project of the new Sky lounges is just the first step of the huge renovation program that A.C. Milan and F.C. Internazionale, together with the Municipality of Milan, are carrying out with the aim of transforming San Siro stadium in a multifunctional facility capable of hosting all the important events that Milano will face during the upcoming EXPO 2015. Following the success of the skybox project, Ragazzi & Partners has carried out the idea of creating a new concept of hospitality spaces on top of the main grand stand of San Siro Stadium for sponsors to enjoy the events in a very special and comfortable location. The project will be developed in two stages: the first phase, completed in 2012, has created 6 new lounges on top of the corner of the red ring. With a very flexible layout the new rooms varies in size and they can be used separately or attached together, with integrated section doors, in order to respond to special needs. Each skylounge has internal toilets, wardrobe, catering room and storage and is equipped with central heating and air conditioning to enjoy the match from inside, without losing contact with the match thanks to the big glass wall overlooking the pitch. LED screens allow to see replays at any time. Outside the lounges, for those who want to feel the atmosphere of the match, there are very comfortable and ergonomic armchairs design by Francesco Ragazzi for Linosonego. The second phase will start i 2013 with the creation of other new skylounges on the opposite grand stand.
