T cafe 1954 Cafe
T Cafe 1954 is a new cafe, created by Tai Cheong Bakery which was found in 1954. The design concept of T Cafe 1954 brings a unique colonial era of Hong Kong in the 1950s back to life. A period while British elegance integrates with traditional Chinese style. Entering the space we found a spectacular vintage clock, it metaphorically reflects the idea of travelling through time and back to the old evocative moments of Hong Kong. Iconic green mosaic floor tiles, window frame pattern and table numbers found in traditional cafes in the 50s became collective memories which Hong Kong people treasured tremendously. Our goal is to capture and modernize these traditional elements in our own unique way. Carefully looking into the furniture and details, a number of western cabinetries with a touch of Chinese elements occupies the area near the entrance where the famous signature 'cookie crust egg tarts' are sold under a vibrant neon-light signage. The space enables customers to take a trip into a 'modernised nostalgia' and emphasize on the uniqueness of an exciting interlace between the old and the new.
