The 7300 series vehicles are the new vehicles of "YURIKAMOME," a new transit system running in the Tokyo Waterfront City. It is a line connecting 16 stations from Shimbashi to Toyosu (14.7 km), with an average daily number of passengers of over 110,000. It is city-friendly, electrically-powered medium-capacity transportation that uses rubber tires on an exclusive elevated track. These vehicles were newly constructed as alternatives for the 7000 series vehicles, which have been running since the inauguration in 1995. Focusing on improving the level of comfort, barrier-free measures, consideration of universal design, enhancement of carrying capacity, and the reduction of environmental burden, they have been modernized as advanced vehicles to be the symbol of the Tokyo Waterfront City.
