The Mirai signals the start of a new age of vehicles. Using hydrogen―an important future energy source―as fuel and mixing it with the oxygen in the air results in a chemical reaction that generates electricity. Using both fuel cell and hybrid technology, it emits no CO2 or substances of concern (SOCs) and achieves superior environmental performance with the convenience and driving pleasure expected of any car. It also enables a generous cruising range and a hydrogen refueling time of only about 3 minutes. Furthermore, we endeavoured to create a symbolic design language for a fuel cell vehicle.
