NS16e is a scalable, modular supercomputing system inspired by the human brain that performs tasks of perception, recognition, and classification in real time with unprecedented energy efficiency. The particular architecture and design of the modular system combines left-brain (language and analytic thinking), with right-brain (sense and pattern recognition powers), creating a holistic computing intelligence. The new TrueNorth chip requires only a fraction of the current power consumed by high-end computer systems, leading the way for a more sustainable way to tackle real-time data analytics. The HW design is also tool-less for enhanced serviceability.
