Ta-ke
A landmark collaboration project with acclaimed architect Kengo Kuma, Ta-ke is a refined Japanese restaurant for high-end dining. Inspired by Japanese courtyards of the 17th century, the designers crafted a biophilic space through a sophisticated use of natural materials such as bamboo, wood and adobe. Various kinds of bamboo are used to distinguish the five zones of Ta-ke, each of which corresponds to a particular part of a traditional courtyard. It involved meticulous research on bamboo types and installation techniques, most importantly how bamboo as a renewable resource connects guests with nature for a tranquil dining experience.
