René Antenatal Monitor
The World Health Organization estimates 289,000 women died during pregnancy and childbirth in 2013, 99% of these were in developing countries. René Antenatal Monitor is a low cost, highly accessible fetal monitor that exploits existing technologies and establishes mobile communication structures within developing countries to support a step change in healthcare for mother and baby. Designed to be used away from clinics and major population centers by relatively untrained staff with data transmission through the GSM network to specialist teams anywhere in the world for assessment and support.
