Clay minerals and earths in diverse colors are the natural raw materials of the porcelain stoneware floor tile VALLEY. Apart from the material usage in the production process, the tile conveys a possible picture of its place of origin also visually. The earthy, deep-brown relief is reminiscent of the fertile soils of a valley bottom. Similar to the development of mineral rock fabrics, the fine-grained ceramic material is compacted under high pressure and heat in the production process of “tile manufacture”. The glassy phase occurring during the firing cycle makes the previously matt colors shine as we know it of water on earth and stone.
