Kitchen knives reach very high temperatures as they are welded together, and their metallographic structures and properties are changed, leading to corrosion or decreasing their usefulness. To solve this problem, we focused on employing Japanese origami skills. Through our enthusiastic work with highly-experienced engineers and workers in the Tsubame-Sanjyo area, we were finally able to successfully fold and bend sheets of hard stainless steel into creations as beautiful as origami. This method brings out the pure beauty of the knives by using a single sheet of material and doing away with the need to weld. This is the fusion of Tsubame-Sanjyos skills and Japanese tradition.
