The Public Relations Department of WDR Broadcasting Company, together with the producers of “Quarks & Co”, a popular science program, announced the eQuarks video competition, which calls on viewers to answer trivia questions by way of home videos and to post them online. To advertise the campaign, a fully animated 3D trailer was created, centering on a figure that is the comical alter ego of the show's real-life host, Ranga Yogeshwar. “eRanga”, as the figure has been dubbed, explains competition questions by guiding viewers through his test hangar. The trailer was used on air on WDR television, online and as a viral video (short version).
