Ergonomic foot control for medical applications.
When performing the most common operation worldwide cataract treatment the surgeon controls key functions on a so-called phacoemulsification device with his foot. For this task steute has developed a foot control panel which is especially designed to suit the anatomy and movements of the foot. To the left and right of a central, sensitively controllable pedal are up to eight rocker switches which can be actuated using the toes or heel. Both, the baseline position of the foot pedal and the force required to actuate it, can be individually adjusted. The result: ideal conditions for concentrated surgery.
