Xhalo is a handheld device that is reusable. Usage is intuitive for patients with LED lighting used together with audible sounds to indicate when to start and finish blowing. The asthmatic inhales into the Xhalo on a daily basis to get a prediction if an asthma attack is imminent. This will allow asthmatics to take necessary preventive or pre-emptive measures. Xhalo is based on the link between exhaled breath temperature and early signs of viral infection before they develop. The patient inhales through the nose and exhales through the mouth directly into Xhalo. It has a heat sink and temperature sensor inside a thermally sealed flask.
