The Abaxis Piccolo Xpress is a point-of-care blood chemistry analyzer for use in medical applications. A non-trained operator can obtain up to 14 different blood chemistry values from a single 100 µL sample in approximately 12 minutes. This easy-to-use product saves lives – it is small (32.4 x 15.2 x 20.3 cm), fast and precise –, it has a handle for optimum transportability, weighs only 5.1 kg and can run on a car battery. The touch screen interface provides clear and simple instructions for two types of application: “Express” for immediate results and “Advanced” for laboratory research use.
