This variable glove has two shells. One below, the GRIP-shell and one above, the WARM-shell with the best insulator: Air (comprised in thick padding). If you are in the top WARM-shell, thermal insulation encases the entire hand and fingers. If you switch to the bottom GRIP-shell, insulation is only on the top of the hand and is compressed. Insulation on the inside of the hand and finger tips is reduced to a minimum. This affords far more dexterity and gripability, and excess heat can escape more readily. A pull tab facilitates slipping the hand into the right shell. The GORE-TEX® gloves are highly breathable and durably waterproof.
