The three different shapes of these tongs represent separate motifs on the movement of human hands. Our hands are unique in that they can move out in various directions and flexibly change their shape. The idea is that such movement or shapes of our hands are transformed into these tongs. The combination of this series is highly functional for serving various dishes. In these tongs, the designer suggests the message of respect for the people and the food by allowing the user to meticulously serve the food. The names of these tongs, AWASE, SASAE, and SOERU come from different Japanese verbs describing the movement of hands.
