The firewall has been developed for professional use in industrial plants and automation. The device won’t hide and disappear in the switch cabinet. It concerns the safety of complete factories, which are connected via Ethernet and controlled by PCs. “ATTENTION – safety equipment” is the motto of our design. The embossed letters “FIREWALL” separate the outside LAN jacks from the ones connected to the internal, protected network. This prevents from false cabling – and shows the function in a simple way. The design plays with well known icons and accepts the “firewall” at face value. The character shows ironical retro-elements. ads-tec has designed the die-cast magnesium housing, all boards and software.
