Jellypod uses sound waves and ultraviolet light to control the overabundance of harmful algal blooms growing in lakes and oceans. Although algal blooms are naturally occurring, too much algae deprives water of oxygen and inhibits the production of nutrients necessary to support marine life. Jellypod is controlled remotely by a personal computer and doesn’t require a motor or complex installation to function. The built-in solar panel is all that’s needed to power the device. Its design resembles a jellyfish, one of the purest marine creatures. With its transparent body, Jellypod blends harmoniously into the surrounding water, just like a jellyfish.
