The purpose of the project was to reinvent K2 Snowboard's top of the line T1 boot, integrating new technological advances and styling. Snowboard boots traditionally have two lacing systems, one for the internal liner and another for the shell (or exterior). The T1 has the Boa Access liner, which allows the rider to fine tune the tension without unlacing and removing the shell. To tighten, the Boa dial on the upper cuff is turned while popped in. To instantly release the tension on the cable system, the rider just pops the Boa dial out. The 2004-2005 K2 boot line, of which the flagship model is the T1, has increased sales volume by 25 percent over the previous season.
