The Breathe CT concept envisions a future direction for computed tomography imaging equipment. Breathe illustrates how new materials and technologies can improve the patient and healthcare provider experience in 10 to 20 years. It addresses the leading concern-mitigating patient anxiety. A molded and cored LCD projects compelling imagery to ease the trepidation patients often have while being scanned. Components were shrunk or relocated to reduce the massiveness of the device and create a larger patient opening for a less claustrophobic feeling. In addition, the design uses a breathable mesh for the bed, making it easier to keep patients physically comfortable by allowing air flow around the body.
