Siemens iQ700
Letting alone that cooking is a process that is often considered a fine art, for many people it is indeed a personal passion. The design of the Siemens iQ700 induction hob with activeLight does entirely without any printing or labelling, which is traditionally used to identify the individual cooking zones. Such otherwise familiar markings are here replaced by a flat surface and intelligent technology. The aim of the concept was to support an unlimited cooking experience in the sense of a flowing interaction. Up to six pots and pans of any size can be placed anywhere on the 90 cm wide surface. When they are placed on the surface or moved, a four-colour TFT touch display automatically recognises their position, inviting users to interact intuitively with the hob. Following every movement, the hob automatically takes all the settings for the cookware to the new position. This process is supported by activeLight, which comprises two innovative, steel-blue lighting strips on both sides of the ceramic surface. They not only serve as a fascinating eye-catcher but also inform users visually about current and required activities. Meanwhile the special induction technology ensures that everything is heated evenly. In addition, a surrounding metal profile protects the edges of the ceramic surface and underscores the precision of this hob design.
