The Alps and Cows ring is a modern version of the so-called “Chüeli” ring whose origins lie in Swiss folklore. Traditionally, farmers drive their cattle up into the mountains in spring and back down to the valley in autumn. When they do so, they wear particularly festive traditional costumes which also include a ring that represents the cattle trek. This ring, made of carbon and 18-carat red gold, refers to this tradition. An optical illusion furthermore creates the impression that the cows are ascending and descending the mountain slopes.
