The process of honing is a common working step in technical production processes, used for example for accurate machining in engine construction. The Contour Honing Tool is a highly developed diamond tool for manufacturing special borehole shapes in engine cylinders and counteracts hole deformation during operation. This reduces the oil consumption as well as friction and thus reduces the emissions from state-of-the-art combustion engines. The innovative design of the Contour Honing Tool achieves significantly improved grip and feel in the operating area. This makes it much easier to handle, as tools in this work area generally get oily and dirty during use. Another innovative aspect is the positioning of the air measuring tube in the interior, which eliminates the risk of tearing or damage. Owing to the possibility of colour coding the identification plates, the tools can be quickly and clearly arranged for the appropriate processes at hand. Moreover, this measure is also supported by the use of an optional RFID chip (Radio-Frequency Identification). The highly sophisticated design of the Contour Honing Tool thus has lead to its optimised functionality, which contributes to a decisive improvement in the daily operation of motors.
