The design of the Eye Beacon pavilion takes up the topic of biomimicry. Its source of inspiration were living deep-sea organisms, who counteract the darkness of their environment by using bioluminescence. To construct the both sculptural as well as functional pavilion, two twisted-looking cubes with a total of 316 panels were connected to each other. All surfaces are made of elastic fabric. Together, they create openings and provide a view into the interior of the pavilion whose striking appearance is reinforced by the play of light.
