The fast-paced changes in automotive design are a response to the changes in expectations by the target group. The Kia Optima was created as an alternative in the midsize saloon segment and quickly gained success. The new model is marked by an overall well-proportioned silhouette and the brand’s familiar hallmark “tiger-nose” grille. In addition, this Kia Optima also features slimmer and wider wrap-around headlamps as well as sharp body lines and details – characteristics that underline its modern appearance. Following the idea of further developing the athletic identity from the previous generation, it now features a chassis that is longer, wider and stiffer. This led to an improvement in both the handling and ride performance as well as to a more spacious cabin. The target group has the choice between two different engine variants, among others the revised 1.7-litre turbo diesel, which can be combined with the new seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The interior looks just as sporting and dynamic as the exterior. With a design oriented closely towards the driver, the interior merges innovative technology and high-quality materials into a comfortable and ergonomically implemented cabin. The design of the Kia Optima thus embodies an outstandingly convincing interpretation – it enriches the streetscape with its sophisticated presence.
