KI xtrap neo
During long runs both shoes and feet are subject to constantly changing load and stress, particularly when the terrain and surface conditions are rough. By fundamentally questioning the construction of running shoes, the design of the KI xtrap neo introduces an entirely new approach to the relationship between shoe and wearer. The innovative xtrap concept was developed to serve as a kind of safety belt for shoes by supporting both the sides and the rear of the outer leather part with a “cross line”, manufactured as a single body and hence eliminating the otherwise conventional separation between insole and midsole. This approach ensures that the internal space of the shoe can adapt to provide the most optimum fit for the user. In addition, 22 ergonomic wave balance pads have been inserted to support the ankles and thus help maintain the balance of the body. The pads react independently to the terrain condition and apply targeted pressure to the foot to provide an overall load effect. In order to avoid adhesion of insole and outsole, an innovative press-moulding technique was employed in the assembly. Applied on the outer leather, it offers the benefit of reducing the need for environmentally unfriendly solvents by more than 50 per cent. Thanks to a remarkable concept, these shoes have emerged as a product that impresses with its lightness and ability to provide enhanced individual fit.
