The shape of the headlamp plays a decisive role in lending a car its distinctive character. The lamps take centre stage in most automotive design processes and are part of the planning process from an early stage. The headlamp for the top version Audi TT3 impresses with a design idiom that is both futuristic and sporting in appearance. It is perfectly matched to enhance the adaptive function of the so-called “Matrix” light beam: a highly effective, glare-free high beam. The headlamps are equipped with an e-light projection module forming the low beam, while three reflectors bring the segmented glare-free high beam into operation. Also outstanding is the fact that the “Matrix” high beam is operational in automatic mode and activated by means of a camera located behind the wind screen. The high beam function is electronically controlled and the integrated LED chips are individually addressed, which ensures a very precise light distribution. The technological innovation of this headlamp is complemented with sophisticatedly designed elements such as a dynamic, linear-shaped daytime running light and a progressive turn signal. Forming an impressive unity of design and light technology, the headlamp emerges as a distinctive eye-catcher that also defines the character of the Audi TT3 with its particular lighting performance.
