Aircraft interior have a decisive influence on how passengers feel and what they perceive within an aircraft. Against this backdrop, the interior for the China Airlines Premium Business Class impresses with a highly refined concept that virtually stages the act of flying. As a result of a two-year long intensive development endeavour, the interior is inspired by the aesthetics of the Song Dynasty, a vibrant era that defined culture in Ancient China from 960 to 1279. In order to gain an in-depth insight into passenger experiences, the design process comprised several workshops and prototyping sessions with frequent business class flyers, leading to a consistently implemented interior based on the concept “Back to Nature”. The interior showcases a variety of traditional elements from the Song Dynasty culture that lend it an outstandingly organic and elegant appearance. In order to deliver a maximum of comfort and convenience, these elements fuse with state-of-the-art technological amenities to form a homogeneous unity. Alongside architectonically impressive details such as a leisure and recreation space as well as an artfully arranged lavatory, the design centres on the customised B/E Super Diamond seats. These are perfectly adapted to passenger needs and fascinate with their functionality and ergonomics. The ambiance of the aircraft interior thus delivers the promise to give guests a memorable flying experience that touches the senses.
