The fact that the Nanchang Insun International Cinema is located in a book city was the inspiration for combining these two media in its design. The white paper carries black characters, black film material captures white light. On entering the cinema, visitors therefore dive into a sea of white. Book pages appear to flutter on the walls and, in the centre of the lobby, are white stacks of paper – they are the ticket points made of Corian. The entrance hall, leading to the individual cinemas, is then dominated by the colour black.
