The philosophers of Greek antiquity had already written about the fundamental significance of water. The pre-Socratic philosopher and astronomer Thales of Miletus for instance defined water as the element and principle of all things that are. The design of the Axor Starck Organic collection is inspired by and draws upon this idea of water as the first principle. The clear and harmonious lines of the bathroom fixtures are reminiscent of shapes found in nature. An organic and flowing form lends them an appearance of exciting and powerful immediacy. The handles of the bathroom fixtures blend in visually with the body of the faucets to adopt the appearance of a self-sufficient unity – like natural sculptures they blend harmoniously with almost any environment. In addition, they feature an ergonomic design and are intuitive to use. Equipped with innovative technology, these bathroom fixtures use water and energy economically, since water volume and temperature are controlled separately. A newly developed spray with a low flow rate of only 3.5 litres per minute means that much less water is used, without compromising functionality. The design of the Axor Starck Organic bathroom fixtures thus merges a surprisingly natural and organic appearance with a user concept that sets new standards for the future.
