The OP-SHIPP Module (Series Hull Integrated Precision Platform) made of sea-water-resistant aluminium is part of a modular system that aids shipyards and designers in developing different types of boats. All individual components are produced on CNC machines and assembled to modules through welding, gluing, bolting and pressing techniques. Subsequently, the modules are attached to the form-giving flange, keel upward, and combined to create the hull. For this advanced manufacturing process length measurements with a precision of +/- 0.5 mm are necessary for deformation-free weld-seams on inner and outer surfaces, as entirely performed by robots.
