SpeedStar BGP 323
Ritt Bjerregaard, Copenhagen’s Lord Mayor, has the ambitious aim of making Denmark’s capital the first carbon-dioxide neutral capital city in the world by 2025. The city should only release as much CO2 as it can process. Communities across the world are tackling this problem with similar commitment, as they are all under enormous pressure to save energy, but must nevertheless continue to maintain a high level of public services, for example by providing the expected level of street lighting. Viewed in this context, the innovative SpeedStar BGP 323 design concept for street lighting sets a new trend. It is CO2 neutral and combines future-oriented technology with elegant design. Its shape is based on a compact, flat LED module that is very versatile. The lighting element can easily be replaced and it needs little maintenance – a feature which considerably reduces a community’s financial burden and work load. The lights are made of very durable materials that are simple to recycle. The street lights are elegant and sculptural in form and open up new horizons to architects and town planners for the future of urban communities across the world. It gives them a both formal and technologically viable solution to save energy and meet existing requirements.
