In order to deflect ambient noise, the ThinkPad X1 headphones employ a combination of active and electronic noise cancellation. The active variant is suitable for undisturbed music enjoyment, while the electronic variant is used during communication. The headphones are equipped with 40 mm drivers, Bluetooth 5.0 and a USB C port for use as a wired version with a laptop. For transport, the headphones may be folded flat.
