The Sequel System is a human genome sequencing machine that is more powerful, cost-efficient and smaller than its predecessor. To prevent the door from obstructing the user, it glides down when opening, giving unrestricted access to the cells, which are arranged neatly on a stainless-steel platform. When the door glides back up again, an airtight chamber is created and the robotic arm dispenses chemicals onto the cells in order to start the analysis process.
