The slender silhouette and striking proportions of the LaFerrari result from the close interaction between its advanced architecture, its integrated hybrid drivetrain and rigorous aerodynamic language. It remains true to the archetype of the classical V12 sports car with a mid-mounted engine. The cockpit and the engine are located within the wheelbase in order to achieve the best possible weight distribution, while mounting the KERS and gearbox at the rear led to a better visual balance between the front and rear overhangs. Both body and chassis are constructed in hand laid-up carbon fibre.
