The three-dimensional effect created by the honeycomb cube is the result of an optical illusion that is confusing and fascinating at the same time. Similar to a game of deception, the impression conveyed by the surface of the polyester upholstery fabric changes depending on the viewing angle and the degree of exposure to light. Variously oriented hexagon clusters form rhombuses. Three rhombuses each form the fourth side of a cube in front of the observer’s eyes. This effect is intensified by a special lacquering on the hexagons.
