Njord is as light as a chair, but as comfortable as an armchair. The legs open out like a chalice to hold the seat shell that is fixed to the frame by four, punched-out holes and visible, oval wooden nails that are a design feature. The shape of the seat shell is inviting to sit in, because it envelops the body. The surface, which is made of polyester felt, is soft and warm to the touch. Its black and white fibres add optical depth. Njord looks like a compact “lounger”, but can just as well be used as a dining chair or as a piece of occasional furniture. And it is stackable. Matching cushions and felt seat pads are optional extras.
