Magnetic resonance imaging, also known as nuclear spin tomography, is a medical imaging technique used to visualise tissue structures inside the body. In medical science it is widely used to detect the source of diseases, and compared to computer tomography, for instance, it has the advantage that patients can completely avoid exposure to radiation. However, uncomfortable noise levels combined with claustrophobic conditions have often turned the examination into a difficult and emotionally stressful experience for the patient. To solve this problem, the magnetic field of the Vantage Titan 3T has been amplified to twice the power, allowing for a reduction in acoustic noise and a widening of the opening to a large 71 cm diameter. Accordingly, the machine provides broader head space for examinations, creating a more relaxed atmosphere for patients. Soft design language and bright colours have a comforting effect, thus reducing patient anxiety.
