The iPod touch media player features a display that sets new standards. The Retina display has a resolution of 940 x 640 pixels, with four times as many pixels as its predecessor model. At a pixel density of 326 ppi, the human eye is unable to distinguish individual pixels, meaning that text and images are displayed sharp and crystal clear. Moreover, the display is equipped with LED backlighting and with an ambient light sensor, which automatically adjusts brightness to existing lighting conditions. This not only enhances the display image but optimises battery life as well. With a single battery charge, up to 40 hours of music and 7 hours of video can be played back. The device includes an Internet browser and an email program and is suitable for various different games and applications. Music, videos, photos and eBooks may also be viewed or played. With one camera at the front and one to the back, interactive video conferences can be conducted with this player.
