JR East,Tokyo Metropolitan Government and other stake holders has proceeded this project together to create the stately façade deserving capital city Tokyo and assure a necessary transportation function as a transportation hub. Based on the design concept creating the stately façade deserving capital city Tokyo, we set up “Total Design Follow-up Meetings about Tokyo Station around Marunouchi Gates” in 2005. From the view point of integrating lots of projects around this area into a harmonized landscape, we have done researches and adjustments with stakeholders. Since we have made this continuous efforts to actualize the idea of total design, the unmatched landscape which connects Tokyo station, its plaza, and Gyoko street has been created in Marunouchi.
