Simple Location-Based System of Public Transportation [ASHIATO Lamp]
Bus riders sometimes sit confused at the bus stop, uncertain whether their bus has already passed or has not arrived yet. Out of consideration for such users, the Ashiato Lamp displays symbols and lamps for a fixed period of time after a bus has passed, simply providing users with basic location information on whether or not a bus has passed, in real time. With no need for large-scale infrastructure or equipment, it also can be used easily at rural bus stops with no power supply, by using batteries or other power sources. It has been designed with consideration for easily presenting information to users such as small children and the elderly who are not highly familiar with information technology, through use of features such as a dog symbol.
