Aero is a piece of furniture with a strong Brazilian identity. It was inspired by modern Brazilian architecture; its construction techniques and materials. Like a building it as beams connected to pillars, both made of solid turned wood. This structure supports the main wooden box which is closed off with straw-mesh doors and panels, a clear reference to the hollow brick walls common in Brazilian houses until the 1960s. The transparency of the panels adds lightness to the piece, and contrasts wonderfully with eth solid wood. The aesthetics of the modernist movement in Brazil has been translated into a unique contemporary piece.
