Interface Headquarters
Interface’s headquarters addresses a big problem: vacant, under-utilized buildings in urban cores. The site posed unique challenges. The building was uncomfortable, with no exterior space, and lots of urban noise. The design replaced the exterior with high-performance glazing to maximize daylight and curtail noise. Interconnecting stairs provide views to multiple floors and large vistas, even in the small footprint. The furniture incorporates natural materials and provides a selection of seating options. This process could be used worldwide to help reduce environmental impacts and provide healthy interior spaces for occupants. The building is certified LEED Platinum.
