Complex, high-pressure live productions often demand long hours of concentration as well as the ability to react quickly and instinctively to unexpected events and changing conditions. The ATEM 2 M/E Advanced Panel was developed by closely analysing live broadcast workflows in order to create a product that, when combined with an ATEM switcher, provides a versatile control solution for the real-time video production of live broadcast sporting events, concerts or TV shows filmed with multiple cameras. The device combines control of over 20 video inputs into a clear, ergonomic layout of two mix/effect (M/E) rows, each with 20 control buttons and a system control LCD for each row, all aimed at accelerating the workflows. Both rows and all control buttons feature integrated LCDs for customisable labelling. This gives users access to a wide range of functions at any time, controllable via precision-crafted switcher buttons with clearly defined pressure points. The smooth, scalloped caps of the switcher buttons reduce distracting reflections and offer positive tactile engagement for comfortable and error-free blind operation. The hardware control panel reduces time-consuming navigation of complex graphical user interfaces and facilitates reliable control over transitions and digital video effects in real time.
