Made famous by jazz musicians like Charlie Parker and Stan Getz, the saxophone is one of the most multifaceted musical instruments. The design of the YDS-150 digital saxophone is modelled closely on the familiar shape and playing style of an acoustic soprano saxophone. It showcases the same length and also utilises the same key layout. Musicians can therefore start playing it immediately without having to get used to it first. The digital saxophone features a brass bell typical of familiar saxophones and inspires with an elegantly rounded shape that leads from the mouthpiece to the flared bell. With only two-thirds of the weight of a conventional saxophone, it rests well-balanced in the hands. At the very heart of this saxophone is a sophisticated digital concept. The YDS-150 enables perfect control of the volume ratios over 15 levels for daily practice. The loudspeaker unit and the brass bell are linked by an acoustic tube that features the Integrated Bell Acoustic System. This tube senses the player’s breath passing through the body and makes the instrument vibrate in response. The result is a natural instrument body resonance that feels just like playing an acoustic saxophone. Featuring saxophone voices such as the soprano, alto, tenor and baritone, as well as synthesiser voices, it allows players to perform a broad repertoire.
