The pendulum stand-up seat is a flexible, electronically controlled seating concept for local trains that allows rapid adaptation to temporarily changing capacity requirements. Thanks to an innovative swivel kinematic combined with a remote-controlled locking mechanism, the single-arm backrest can be swiveled around the seat surface or locked in a vertical position. This allows to generate standing seats, with more passenger capacity or flexibly orientable seats with more comfort or coupled bench seats by the push of a button in the cockpit.
