The Wick translates a pretty remarkable technological leap into something tangible. If you were to look at the Wick’s silhouette, you’d probably think it was a wick-based oil or fuel lamp from the 19th century or even earlier. However, when you observe the product in reality, you realize that the wick-lamp-shaped design is just symbolic of an era gone by, and that the Wick Lamp by Graypants, is in fact, a modern lamp powered by LEDs. The combination of primitive and modern is what’s so appealing about the Wick. Sure, it wouldn’t have the same appeal to every generation, but it still tends to bring out a very visceral level of appreciation, thanks to its old-fashioned aesthetic.
