Boryo is a widely used versatile seating arrangement in traditional Korean homes, and is now reinterpreted for modern living. The major target consumers are children and their parents living in a small two- or three-bedroom apartment, given that they tend to move house frequently and prefer sitting on the floor to maximize the use of their limited living space. The focus in the redesign of boryo was given to the proportions that would be most comfortable and useful. Comprised of five modules – seat for one person, seat for three people, armrest, backrest, cushion – users can choose any unit they want to comfortably sit, sleep, or drink tea.
