The NYC Condom is an initiative of the NYC department of Health: the free distribution of condoms is an effective measure against HIV infections and unwanted pregnancies. The dispenser is the primary distribution system for the free condom program. Visually and graphically, the purpose of the NYC Condom initiative is to is to help the city of New York achieve its two main goals: raising citizen's awareness of the condoms and driving dispenser adoption by businesses. The challenge was creating an integrated system of dispensers and condoms that could live in multiple venues and environments. Reminiscent of a condom shape warped into the surface of one's leather wallet, the design is distinctly New York and approachable to multiple demographics from high end lounge to bar to clinic and shelters.
