For people that use complex, specialized computer applications (such as animation, illustration, simulation, gaming) and for the physically and neurologically challenged, keyboards and mice have often not kept pace with technology. The DX1 is a free-form keypad where each key is not only infinitely locatable but individually programmable. The keys have no wires or batteries and are simple to program and reposition. Each key can be individually programmed to initiate a keystroke, a group of keystrokes, a program, a command, a string of commands or a URL using RFID technology. Since the top of the keypad is clear, users can insert a “map” overlay to identify the keys.
